  As someone who is spoilt for choice, living in Manhattan, with high quality places to eat, I always have a hard time going with the idea of eating at a "chain" restaurant. That phrase has been used and slightly abused by places like TGIF and Chili's, which are fine when you just want a burger and a beer, but if you want good quality, vaguely healthy food, most people will look elsewhere.
  
  On a trip from NYC to Boston, Hartford ended up being the best choice for lunch, and there were only a half dozen choices, rated over four stars, for me to choose from. Despite all of that, I'm very glad I came to Ted's. The quality of the experience was top drawer. Connor and his staff were incredibly friendly (it makes such a difference when you see a genuine smile when being greeted), and accommodating. My bison meatloaf with squash and garlic mash was excellent, and highly satisfying. I also spent about 20 minutes talking to Connor about everything from motorcycles, through traveling in Europe, to what makes for a good restaurant and the perils and pitfalls of being labeled a chain. This place is so undeserving of that name, it isn't funny.
  
  So, if your in the area and you want some choice in your menu offerings (one person wants to eat healthy without being forced to have a salad) and the other wants burger and fries, this is an excellent choice. Scratch that, unless you are looking for something specific like sushi or pizza, this is a great choice that won't break the bank.
  
  If you read this and stop by, look out for Connor (big guy with a tamed but bushy beard) and tell him that English guy on the Triumph sent you. It will make him smile!
